Who is behind DARNA ?
In the morning, before the shop opens, the sea is still the color of slate. The sky wavers between pearl gray and pale gold, and the Pink Granite Coast dons its hues one by one. Across the wet sand, a Weimaraner named Gustave races straight toward the horizon, ears streaming in the wind, drunk on freedom.
A little further along, two figures walk by the water's edge. Who are this couple—the creators of la Maison Darna ?

Mostapha scans the waves with the eye of a connoisseur. Fishing is a lifelong passion of his—an art form rooted in patience and companionable silence. Originally from Morocco, he carries with him a valuable conviction from his years in the hospitality and airline industries—where he used to send planes soaring toward the sun: hospitality is all about the details, and the happiness of others is something prepared in advance, discreetly and with a smile. He can do it all—repairing, organizing, hosting, and reassuring—and he does so with an elegance that is only truly noticed when it is absent.
Beside him, Caroline has hair tousled by the sea spray and a gaze that lingers on everything beautiful: an architectural detail on a façade, a peony in bloom, or the sun sparkling on the sea. She spent years in the world of numbers and magazines- notably *Maisons Côté Ouest*—where she honed her eye and learned the value of rigor and the art of persuasion. But one day, she felt the urge to bring beauty into the real world rather than just onto the page. She also has an intoxicating love for salt water, delighting in twilight swims and sailing excursions.
Entrepreneurs at heart, they built their life together around an initial venture spanning Morocco and Paris : Bahya cement tiles. She designed the collections and marketing strategy, while he managed manufacturing and oversaw projects on site.
Then, they bought a house on the Pink Granite Coast... and decided to share their favorite finds in a shop they named Darna - Arabic for "our home." It is a word rich in meaning, evoking a welcoming sanctuary filled with treasures and unique finds. A shop that honors the spirit of the location and the Brittany coast, where every item is carefully selected: fine materials, clean lines, a subtle color palette, and a distinct flair for blending inspirations. It is a place where charm lies in the unique textures of handcrafted pieces, where the eye might be surprised by a bold print, and where the spirit is soothed by a light, joyful atmosphere.
Over the years, the couple’s hearts have become truly Breton- steeped in the hues and salt air of the Pink Granite Coast—yet their souls remain travelers. Each getaway leaves them with a memory of a color, a craft, or a particular way of cherishing objects. Thus, within the shop, cultures intersect and inspirations converse; worlds from far and wide sit side by side in perfect harmony.
If you ever find yourself on the Pink Granite Coast, step inside. Take your time. Let them guide you to the cove where the evening feels softest, the perfect spot for lunch, or the candle that will bring the scent of the sea back home with you.
