Maison Darna is deeply attached to the red city, to its sweet and spicy atmosphere, to the alleys of the medina rich in smells and sounds of all kinds, to its colors, to its extravagance, to the know-how of the artisans who embroider by hand, work leather and dyes, or strike metal with dexterity ...
Here we share our good addresses, where we regularly like to take refuge for a weekend ...

Our favorite visits
Marrakesh is rich in museums and lush gardens, which take us on a journey to the heart of Moroccan culture. The Medersa Ben Youssef (the old Koranic school), the Bahia Palace or the Koutoubia gardens will allow you to discover the roots of the city, understand the foundations of its architecture and explore its traditional art (zelliges, carved wood, plaster worked like lace ...). These unmissable visits will reveal the history of the city and allow you to immerse yourself in Arab-Muslim civilization. The Majorelle Garden and the adjoining museum dedicated to Yves Saint-Laurent are also spectacular visits: the painter's blue mixes with the essences of exotic plants, while the building dedicated to the couturier surprises with its ultra-modern design and the intimate atmosphere that reigns there. Finally, more confidential museums are also worth a visit, notably the Weaving and Carpet Museum, or the Museum of Fine Arts, with its incredible collection of jewelry and overlooked by a terrace, where you can eat veggie in the shade of the bougainvillea.

Where to snack in the heart of the souks ?
You will not miss exploring the medina and its olive, babouche, basket merchants ... Between two souks, here are two places to have lunch: the Café des Epices, a pioneer of the city's rooftops, which will give you a breathtaking view of the square with the scents of mint and saffron, and the Nomad which we appreciate for the plate and the decor!

Marrakesh is a dense city, which never seems to sleep ... It is therefore good to recharge your batteries in a few places where time seems to stand still! For an enchanted interlude, we recommend that you treat yourself to a cup of tea in the gardens of the legendary Mamounia palace: a cozy place, full of history, where every detail has been thought out with refinement. The gardens are home to a vegetable garden where you will have fun discovering certain species and admiring the orange and lemon trees.
Outside of Marrakesh, the Beldi Country Club is a place where we like to spend the day: everything is there to spend a real moment of relaxation in the heart of the vegetation. Swimming pool, restaurant, tennis courts, quads and shops are all there. You can also take a look at the workshop where the famous Beldi glasses are made on site.
Finally, a fresh fruit juice awaits you at the Jardin Secret, a 19th century Arab-Andalusian building, which is a magical place in the heart of the medina.

After this little break, you will probably want to discover our good shopping addresses? We take you to the Bab-Doukkala district where parents and grandparents can fall for the adorable creations of Little Marrakech. Constance, the designer, works with beautiful materials and takes care of the finishes of these pieces intended for little blond (and brunette!) heads. Everything is delicious!
A few meters further, discover the ultra-refined and timeless household linen, signed Valérie Barkowski and do not leave without a new bathrobe or slippers revisited in a contemporary and original style! Her neighbor, Mustapha Blaoui is also a Marrakesh reference: the temple of beautiful objects tastefully found.
After all these visits, how about some pampering ? Marrakesh is full of beauty salons and spas! But we found a tested and approved gem: the Dyali spa, nestled in the Guéliz district. A small institute with a "Venus Beauté" spirit, where you can enjoy a one-hour massage for 250 dh (around €25). The place is simple, but clean, the staff is charming and attentive and the masseuse has magic fingers!
After letting yourself go to this moment of relaxation, you will have to think about dinner? Also in Guéliz, the Grand Café de la Poste is an institution, an emblematic place that welcomed Jacques Majorelle, General Lyautay and Pasha El Galoui. You can also enjoy very good cuisine at Kechmara, also in Guéliz, enjoy its rooftop and its vintage furniture.
And finally, what to bring back from Marrakesh ? We never leave without having filled our suitcase with olives, preserved lemons, rosebuds and orange blossom oil ! A few ingredients that re-enchant our daily life back in Europe!
