At Ploumanac’h, a day to reinvent hospitality

On September 21st, la Maison Darna, CFOC, and Castel Beau Site brought together professionals from the hospitality, restaurant, interior design, and décor sectors in Ploumanac’h for a day dedicated to inspiration, sharing, and experience.

Facing the sea, within the exquisite setting of the Castel Beau Site, eyes met over a shared question : how can we create places today that make people want to return, stay, and remember ?

Decoration as an immersive experience

The day began with the unveiling of the new collection from CFOC - Compagnie Française de l’Orient et de la Chine, showcased across various spaces at the Castel Beau Site. From furniture and ceramics to decorative objects and tableware, the collection took on a new dimension within the vibrant, real-world setting of the hotel.

For that is precisely what interests us at Darna : viewing décor not merely as an accumulation of beautiful objects, but as a language.

A material, a color, a quality of light, a set table, or a piece of furniture can all help tell a story and shape an identity.

This encounter with CFOC perfectly illustrates this conviction : in the hospitality sector, the choice of objects and materials plays an integral role in the experience created for guests. Brand ambassadors Noëmie Crochet and Isabelle Besland demonstrated this firsthand.

Can one create luxury without substantial financial resources?

Another highlight of the morning was the meeting with Michel Simon, Founder and President of Albatros-Malletier, who came to share insights from a 66-year career dedicated to beauty and craftsmanship. With great generosity and candor, he discussed the drivers of high-end positioning and addressed a particularly timely question :

Is it possible to build a luxury brand in France in 2026 without capital ?

His journey demonstrates that luxury is not solely dependent on financial means ; it is also built upon vision, exacting standards, coherence, and the ability to tell a story.

Together with his business partner Bénédicte Dubois, he also showcased one of his creations: the *Malle de Plage* (Beach Trunk), conceived as an object designed to captivate seaside tourists.

A very concrete way of thinking about what luxury can be today : not necessarily ostentatious, but desirable, distinctive, and deeply rooted in a specific place.

Why are some hotels progressing while others are plateauing ?

In the afternoon, time for discussions with Anna Pagès - creator of IPSE Studio and marketing director of Fixacouette, Marjolaine Levêque - HotelPartner ambassador and Jules Baron - founder of Oneho, gathered around a talk show dedicated to current issues in the hotel industry.

Positioning, customer experience, revenue management, differentiation, quality of life at work …

The questions asked were very concrete:

Why are some establishments progressing while others are plateauing ?

How to justify your price and get out of the price war ?

What does a guest really feel when staying in an establishment ?

Is quality of life at work a cost or a performance lever ?

Questions which go far beyond the scope of the hotel industry and which ultimately concern all those who today seek to create value around a place.

Bringing expertise into dialogue

Beyond the scheduled program, the day served as a powerful reminder of the importance of human connections.

A Parisian interior design house, an iconic hotel on the Pink Granite Coast, a trunk maker, hospitality experts, architects, decorators, restaurateurs, and local professionals ...

It is often through the interplay of these different worlds that the most interesting ideas emerge.

Maison Darna was born on the Pink Granite Coast, yet our ambition is to foster a dialogue between this region and other worlds, other forms of expertise, and other perspectives.

The day spent at Castel Beau Site was a perfect illustration of this.

What’s next ?

We leave this day with a reinforced conviction : the future of hospitality will increasingly hinge on identity, experience, and the ability to tell a story.

Aesthetics matter, of course. But beauty alone is no longer enough.

A vision is essential.

A place must have a personality. An object must have a story. An experience must leave a lasting impression.

It is precisely in this spirit that La Maison Darna aims to continue developing projects and building bridges between interior design, the art of living, hospitality, and the local region.

Thank you to CFOC for their trust, to Castel Beau Site for their hospitality, and to all the speakers and participants who helped make this day a truly inspiring occasion.

And above all, thank you to everyone who made the trip to Ploumanac’h.

The next chapter is ours to write together !
